Below is a timeline of some of the major inventions and innovations from the 1990s. From science to corporations, the '90s was full of upstarts. Not all of them are American, but all of them have impacted America in a big way since.

March 30 - The World Wide Web and Internet became updated and public. The ARPANET was formally used, but then Tim Berners-Lee, Robert Cailliau, and other CERN centrists developed a shared format for hypertext documents called hypertext markup language, also known as HTML. URL and HTML made it easier for users to interact on the web.
